I loved Ms. Malpas' writing style and her minor characters but the antagonists had huge major flaws that I just couldn't seem to overlook. Olivia was very immature and "M" was arrogant, egotistical and always thought of himself as the bee's knees. I can't believe Olivia stuck around for as long as she did nor can I believe that what she witnessed, after everything he's been like with her, is what made her walk away.

The book finally arrived today!
I had mixed emotions throughout this book. I liked Livy, the narrator. She was funny and self-deprecating. But I wasn't sure about Miller. At times I liked him, I could understand why Livy was attracted to him, but at other times I just thought he was an arrogant douche bag and I wanted Livy to run in the opposite direction.
The events unfold excruciatingly slow, especially in the first half of the book. And then towards the end there is a twist that comes completely and shockingly out of left field, and after that it's tense and compellingly page turning, and I do want to read the next book to see how Livy and Miller will deal with the fall out.
My full review is on my blog.
I've PMd penelopewanders for her address and will mail out as soon as she responds.

Headed to Switzerland!
This arrived today in the Swiss Alps, thanks so much! It looks like I'm at the end of the ray- if that's not the case, please let me know!

It seemed like this was riding the wave of Fifty Shades... naive young woman (ok, not so naive, but caught up with her inhibitions and personal taboos)... strong-willed, domineering man, with his many idiosyncracies (OCD? really? is that sexy these days?). It let itself be read. Part of a ring/spiral I am curious how the tale will evolve from here as this concluded with something of a cliffhanger.
I gather this is the end of the spiral ray- if I'm mistaken and it needs to head elsewhere, please do let me know. Meanwhile thanks so much for making this available and sending.

This now leaves the (finally somewhat) snowy Swiss Alps and heads, with the rest of the trilogy and another book, off to France, thanks to bookmooch (but travelling to another bookcrosser, if I'm not mistaken). Thanks for making these available, and all the best for a wonderful 2016!
