This book tells the back story behind many of the tempests of controversy regarding Autism. I really appreciate the background and review of the studies. As can be expected from a book written by someone who has been castigated for espousing a scientific opinion in the face of emotional denial, the book felt a bit tendentious by the end. However, working in the field of autism, I really appreciated the main body of the work, and did get to the end out of respect for the effort. For me, it is very helpful to have a better understanding of how worries and rumours flow.
