When this was just out, I signed up for a bookring, but the bookring book got lost somewhere in Australia, and I forgot about it for a while. Now I found a cheap (but very pretty) used copy, so I'm giving it a try.
Definitely a book about childhood, but not a children's book. (Warning: sex scene from the point of view of an observer who is too young to understand, which makes it feel weird and creepy. Also violence that qualifies as torture, and the victim is a child. Still told in a way that makes it make sense in the context of the plot, rather than feel gratuitous and voyeuristic, as in a lot of contemporary Fantasy.)

Finished in no time at all. I'm not 100% sure if I like this book. I'll give it some time and rethink this question. I'm sure it's telling me something (maybe something about myself, maybe something about my relationship with the books that Neil Gaiman has written so far), but I don't know what that is yet.
I know this much: if a book makes you think, that's a good thing. (And even books you don't like at all can make you think.)

This book is now travelling to the Netherlands - to be read by the winner of the Book, Tea & Chocolate Sweepstakes. I'm lucky: it was on her wishlist. Hope she likes it. :)
Thank you very much, anathema-device, for sending me this wishlist book (along with lots of tea and chocolate)! I'm really looking forward to reading it!
What an absolutely wonderful book!!! I liked it very much! Thanks for sharing this with me, anathema-device!
This wishlist book goes to Yelle1107.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

I just found this book in the mail! Thank you so much for sending it to me, motherof11! As I told you, I've got quite a few books waiting to be read at the moment, but this book looks so wonderful, it will probably be read soon anyway! :)

27 July 2015: I really enjoyed this book. It's hard to say why exactly, but the best way I can describe it is: it's a lovely "fairy tale" for adults. :) Thank you for sending this book to me, I'm very happy I've got to read it! :)

Boek gevonden? Leuk!
Thanks for finding me. My previous caretaker would like to get a note that you found me, so please leave a message (it is possible to stay anonymous. "found" or "thanks" is plenty :-) ). Then read me and/or release me. Or, keep me and reread me.
