I was unsuccessfully hunting for this on my BC shelf, and realized the JE I made 2 years ago must have not gone through. Sorry that this has been in internet limbo for so long!

I have read a few of the stories in this book, but have concluded that Levitt's writing style is not for me, so I won't be continuing to push through the rest. Hopefully the next reader will enjoy it more (and not be so spacey about the JE!)

I've read this one before, so I'm leaving it in the box for someone else, but did want to add my comments.

This is a collection of short stories about families - all different types, in a variety of moods and situations. The first one, "Territory," was my favorite, and perhaps the least melancholy of the collection; some of the others are quite sad. Leavitt writes moody little stories of emotions (internal and otherwise) and relationships, quiet and thought-provoking... I preferred his collection A Place I've Never Been, but this one's quite good.

[Update, 8/22: lynmarenjensen reported claiming this from the bookbox.)
