Journal Entry 1 by Martie-Kr from Mentor, Ohio USA on Saturday, January 31, 2004
I liked this Holly Barker mystery. Good characters and enough of a plot to keep you guessing for awhile. From back: Blood Orchid is the thrid adventure of Chief of Police, Holly Barker. Holly is trying to get her life back together after the loss of her fiance. With the help of her doberman, Daisy, and her father, Ham, she throws herself back into the job with a vegeance. But before Holly can settle into her routine again, bullets crash into the home of a friend and a floater is found bobbing in the Intercoastal Waterway. Holly connects these events to mysterious goings on in Miami, but she can't imagine how these violent evetns could be related to own quiet town of Orchid Beach. She joins forces with an FBI agent and they track the clues straight to the source, only to find a scam more dangerous than any this idyllic town-or Holly-has ever seen.

Journal Entry 4 by SalDragski from San Antonio, Texas USA on Thursday, October 21, 2004
Audiobook read by Alison Fraser. At times I didn't think the character of the female chief of police was consistent. This might have been because of the abridgement but I doubt that I would of liked it much better if I had read it. I really liked Daisy the dog though.

I really enjoyed this. I'll have to keep an eye out for more Holly Barker stories by Stuart Woods.
