Novel set in Montana mining country after World War I.
Mailed from the East Coast to the West Coast today. I hope that you enjoy the book--and thanks for coming to Bookcrossing.com! When you have a moment, I'd appreciate it if you'd write a journal entry to say where this book has gone next.
Received in Portland Oregon. Thanks Badgerjim.
This is historical fiction that I enjoy. It is set in Butte Montana in 1919, as the miners' union faces pressure from Anaconda and from the more radical IWW. It seems very authentic from the mix of immigrants, to the train composed of ore cars with one passenger car attached on the way to the smelter in Anaconda, to the boarding house run by a mine widow.
The ending might be a little sappy and over neat but makes for an enjoyable story.
