This is a fictional account of the life of Dinah, only daughter of Jacob from the Old Testament of the Bible. From childhood to old age she faces many challenges. This book gives great insight into life as a woman in early Biblical times. Jacob had 4 wives who were all mothers to Dinah and indeed to all of the sons, but Dinah's birth mother is Leah. Dinah is sustained throughout life by the gifts and life lessons of her mothers, and eventually follows the lead of her aunt/mother Rachel by becoming a much sought after Midwife. I really enjoyed this book. The lives led by women at this time in history was fascinating.
