Another excellent book from Mitch Albom. It follows the story of a recently-deceased man, Eddie, and the five people he meets in heaven. To say any more would be to give away the best parts of the book, so I'll leave it at that.

Going out as a bookring.

Journal Entry 3 by EDDI from Melbourne CBD, Victoria Australia on Tuesday, April 6, 2004
It finally arrived! Had you given up hope Jamesmum?!! Thanks so much...

Journal Entry 4 by EDDI from Melbourne CBD, Victoria Australia on Friday, April 9, 2004
I don't want to disappoint jamesmum as the book took sooo long to get here, but I didn't really like it that much. I did read it quickly and found it easy going but I thought the content somewhat trite and predictable. On its way to dei in Singapore tomorrow.

Change of plans..mailed to someone in Aus whose screen name I have forgotten, sorry!!

Journal Entry 5 by lakelady2282 from Lake Macquarie, New South Wales Australia on Friday, April 16, 2004
The book arrived today. Thank you Eddi. Will try and read it as quickly as I can and get it moving.

Journal Entry 6 by lakelady2282 from Lake Macquarie, New South Wales Australia on Friday, April 23, 2004
I really enjoyed this book and read it very quickly. I love Ruby Pier, the whole atmosphere of the seaside park. The older more colourful rides gradually superseded by altogether different rides. An Amusment park as a metaphor for life and death. And although the novel reads smoothly there are quite a lot of very different chapters being worked cleverly together, juxtaposing each other, highlighting in various ways, stages of Eddie's life. There are some memorable lines in the novel:

Eddie awoke in a teacup.
But scenery without solace is meaningless.
Parents rarely let go of their children, so children let go of them.

Some my find this book too simple but there are hidden insights.

Posted yesterday to Dei amid a flurry of my son's birthday, a Nickleback concert and Mother's Day. The post office lady said it should get there in two weeks.

This is such a wonderfully written book. Such fine words and all emotions felt by the author can be read in this book. A certainly very touching read. Even introduce as a must read for my friends~!
Thanks Jamesmum for introducing this book to me.

Now awaiting Potbelly to reply when to receive the book from me personally.

Journal Entry 9 by Potbelly on Monday, August 30, 2004
Sorry for taking so long to update on this book.

Pretty easy reading. I like the way all the little details fall into place, interlinking one another. Will be getting the address of the next person from jamesmum. Hope that I will be able to send it on its way by end of this week.

NOTE FROM THE RING ORGANIZER 9/4/04: I haven't gotten a response from Hengameh yet - I'll wait until Monday, and if I haven't heard from her by then, the ring will continue on to Zenita (who has sent me her address).

I have sent the book on its way to Zenita. Have a great time reading it!

Received it yesterday. Thanks to all.
(Astonishing timing, just finished jamesmum's other ring!)

Journal Entry 15 by rem_HHX-328595 on Saturday, November 20, 2004
Finished it. As it turns out, this is not really my cup of tea. Have to admit I skipped some paragraphs after being halfway through. I guess Tuesday with Morrie wouldn't be the thing for me either. Well, now I know!
Thanks for ringing Jamesmum. I was very curious about this book.
I am now waiting for Intrycksflikka's address to send it on.

Journal Entry 16 by intry from Turku, Varsinais-Suomi / Egentliga Finland Finland on Friday, December 10, 2004
Got it in the mail yesterday, will start reading it ASAP =)

Journal Entry 17 by intry from Turku, Varsinais-Suomi / Egentliga Finland Finland on Monday, December 20, 2004
Have finished the book, and absolutly loved it. It was wonderfully written and easy to read. I don't think that I would have found out about the book without bookcrossing =) At first I thought that I wouldn't like the book, it thought that it would be too religious for me, but it wasn't. It just felt right...

Mailed to PowerSlaves 27 December 2004...

Here is the book!
Thank you Intrycksflikka for the card! I don't understand a word of the Finnic language, but it looks (and specially sounds) very beautiful.
Best wishes to everyone.

NOTE FROM THE RING ORGANISER: Sorry, everyone - this ring seems to be stuck. Despite emailing me to say that the book would be moving along shortly, the book has been with PowerSlave since January, with no status updates. Sorry.

UPDATE 9/6/05: This ring has started moving again - never give up hope!

Journal Entry 20 by lostbookisland on Wednesday, August 31, 2005
This is a book that appears to have gotten a bit lost while in the care of a BookCrosser. Sad that this book may not get the chance to ever finish its journey.

The Lost Book Island will give this book the chance to spend time on the beach and rejuvinate so that hopefully it can move along once more.

A new journal entry is all it takes to ease the heartache that is felt by those that wanted to see this book move.

Journal Entry 21 by bookmanu from Cascais, Lisboa (distrito) Portugal on Tuesday, September 6, 2005

Mailed to fflloorr today. Sorry I kept it for so long. I noticed it's been in Portugal for almost a year.

I enjoyed this quick read about Eddie's life and the discovery of his purpose on earth.

Looking forward to reading Tuesday's with Morrie by the same author.

It's with me now.

Journal Entry 24 by fflloorr on Monday, December 19, 2005
I really liked the story of this book. It's quite different from other versions of Heaven. However, I didn't like the ending, I was expecting a bit more.

I really enjoyed this book and read it within 24 hours. It's a very quick but interesting read. I found myself anxious to find out the unknown story of this mans life, who had affected it and why he lived the life he did. I liked the ending too. For me it was a real page turner. I'll be sending it off to Marie-Therese as soon as possible.

Journal Entry 34 by abs from Seattle, Washington USA on Friday, July 21, 2006
I just got this book. I was so surprised, as I was watching the mail for a different book. Imagine my surprise as I opened the package to find not only the book I was awaiting but a book from my wishlist. I've been told by many people to read this book, and so I will. I read Tuesdays with Morrie a few years ago, and found it to be "okay". I'm hoping this will be better.
