On to Mt TBR.
Before reading this story I truly felt I could no longer be shocked by stories of the Holocaust, I was so wrong. This well written narrative is a compelling read embracing universal lessons about our shared humanity. Recommended reading.

This book has been on my Wishlist for nearly two years, so I was happy to snaffle it up at meetup today.
What a heart-wrenching story! I loved the two tiered story of the present told alongside the very sad history of the French police rounding up Parisian Jews during the Second World War. The coincidence of Julia's husbands family family living in an apartment which had been directly involved in the roundup and her examination of her own marriage made for a very moving and honest account.

Added to the delights of visiting Walmington Hall on 18 September 2015, was my surprise at finding Sarah's Key lying on a wall in the splendid gardens. What a remarkable find. This harrowing, well crafted tale with its juxtaposition of the two stories running through the book, held my attention throughout.
