From Bookmooch. Thought I'd stock up on the Christmas books but it seems if I got one to many. Will save for next year.

A very quick read about a couple who decide to skip Christmas, as their daughter has gone to Peru for a year. They work out that Christmas cost them about $6,000 every year and spend the money on a cruise instead.

Humor ensures as they refuse to buy Christmas charity items when people knock at the door, upset the neighbours when they refuse to decorate, causing the street to lose a Christmas contest. And various other Christmassy things.

Then their daughter calls, turns out she will be back for Christmas after all...

I did like this book, despite the scenarios being pretty unrealistic, well it wouldn't happen in the UK, I'm not sure about America. I honestly don't think the neighbours would care if we decided to skip Christmas, I doubt they would notice.

I personally would have told the daughter the truth and gone on the cruise. But then we wouldn't have had the heartwarming fuzzy ending. A funny book that will get you in the festive mood.
