This book was given to me by my sister-in-law C for bookcrossing It is a paperback in good condition.

My husband has read this book and comments as follows:- The first part of the book is more interesting than the second part. There are too many short anecdotes in the second half making it rather disjointed. I wasn't too impressed with his excessive drinking nor over-interested in reading about people he inter-acted with who I'd never heard of. I feel the book would have been better if it were more condensed.

And this is me- the book will now be placed back on my shelves until I can fit it into one of Plum-Crazy's monthly themes-see under Book Talk in the Forum.

REVIEW:- " I enjoyed this book and got into it properly after a shaky start. I often find that memories of peoples' childhoods in biographies are not as interesting, or well written as the accounts of their adulthood and this was the case with this book. I did nevertheless feel very sorry for Billy due to his dreadful upbringing and the abuse and neglect he suffered.

I have followed Billy Connolly's career with interest and admire his comedy his acting and his documentaries even though the former is extremely vulgar at times. He appears to be an enigma being at the same time irreverent but kind and sensitive and therefore very well-loved by his peers and his fans.
One particular part of the book made me laugh out loud i.e. his experience of onboard aircraft toilets but I can't quote from it!"
