This is an ARC I picked up at a book festival at the Banff Centre in Canada. Put simply, it's about a guy who graduates from Berkeley in the late sixties and goes to Alaska, with girlfriend in tow, in search of a deeper truth about humanity. There, his obsession with the wilds slowly unhinges him, and his relationship, and portends his demise. But then this book is anything but simple!
The descriptions of the wild Alaskan landscape are especially amazing. Rich Shapero takes you right there. Watch this new author!
