Full disclosure: I received this book as a Goodread giveaway First Reads, but this did not affect my review.
This is a contemporary romance that gives a couple a second chance at love. Grace Madison has been away from her home in Briar Creek for five years. She wants more excitement in her life as she begins her writing career. Yet, she leaves behind her first love, Luke Hastings, because he wants to settle down there.
She returns once, but it is too late. Luke has moved on and marries another, Helen. So, she goes back to New York heartbroken, determined to make a life apart from her family.
With all aspects of her life falling apart, she returns home at Christmas only to find so much has changed for her mother and sisters. So has the town, the people except for Luke.
Luke's wife has died two years earlier. He has not properly grieved so Grace's return is upsetting to him. He hasn't forgotten her though.
Can they get past their individual issues with each other and rediscover love?

If you aren't familiar with Bookcrossing, take a few minutes to check out this very cool site. Bookcrossers LOVE books, and more than anything, they love to read books and then set them free for other people to find and enjoy. I would love it if you would leave a journal entry -- you can say where you found the book or how you liked it when you read it. Then, when you are ready, pass it along for someone else to enjoy!
