I bought this book in St. John's, Newfoundland, where it was printed as well.
Cover text:
Globalization: unstoppable. Protest, and be trampled. Give in, and share in the prosperity. In Mungo City, these words are gospel, and heaven help those who question the faith.
What the critics are saying about Mungo City:
"Cutting-edge satire ... leading the world in corporate comedy ..." - Someone We Paid
"... but trailing the world big-time when it comes to actual book sales." - The Same Guy

A exaggerated vision of the future:
Global companies rule the world and a schizophrenic simpleton somehow gets involved in the struggle between the Corporate World and The Abyss™ (a part of the world craving for democracy). Amusing, yet not overly funny.
Strangely enough, this is the second book in a short time for me, that deals with the concept of mimes:
"When it came to spotting the I am an individual, dammit!s, Professor Ing was the king. It was just like clockwork. Every term, some poor, unfortunate soul would realize how silly the world was, how pointless the hoops had become, and spiral straight on out the lecture hall doors. […] most of them ended up okay. He could only think of two who had actually killed anybody, and only one, thank goodness, who had ended up as a mime, and they locked that bastard up nice and tight, so he won't be bothering anyone anymore."

Taken from the MeetUp in the OBCZ Irish Pub. I'm looking forward to read this book.
It was funny when I started to read the book. Later it became more boring and currious.
I've only taken this book with me because of the picture of the Horsus Assus spider and it's spider web ;-).

Beim MeetUp an ParadizeApple weitergegeben.
Since I urged werner-wg to read this book, seems I have to get through it by myself. Not quite at this very moment, but I aim to be finished until April, for taking it to the BookCrossing Convention Amsterdam 2010. Cross fingers.
Edit: Haven't even started, but decided to take the chance and release it in Israel.
