I got this fair-condition ex-library softcover from Better World Books, attracted by the handsome guys on the cover - and by the fact that the author also wrote Hero Heel, which I enjoyed. This one is about five young men working as hosts at a "Butler Cafe", and was based on a live-action Japanese TV series.

The setting is sort of a "host club"-lite, or a grown up version of Ouran High School Host Club: the cafe is run under the pretext that all its customers are the masters and mistresses of the household, and the staff are their loyal and devoted servants. They serve tea and tasty snacks, and can spend some time in conversation, but it's all very low-key - or is meant to be. We meet the head butler and the various footmen, learn how the cafe works, and see how the guys behave off duty. [Most of them room together; seems they don't make very much money. This, and their personality clashes, lead to some of the drama, though in general it's a sweet, light series.]

The stories involve specific customers with one concern or another, quibbles between members of the staff, misunderstandings, etc. - all handled quickly and usually with some humor. I enjoyed it - and I would love to have a place like it to visit in real life {wry grin}.

I was delighted to spot this handsome new Little Free Library just off of Rt. 103 at the shore of Lake Sunapee. Left several books there at around noon. Hope the finder enjoys them!
