Heard about this from The Specsaver Crime Thriller awards 2013 as it was on the Best Crime Novel Gold Dagger shortlist. It didn't win but it sounds very intriguing....

Harper stalks his shining girls through the years - & cuts the spark out of them.

But what if the one that got away came back for him?....

Well this was certainly a compelling read. I did spend the first few chapters continually flicking back to Harpers "first" time in the house trying to get the story straight in my mind but in the end decided to forget that & just read on & see if everything came clear in the end - one or two points didn't but guess that could be down to the paradoxes of time travel...

Maybe it's a book that would benefit from a second reading so that I can pick up on things I may have somehow missed, although with so many waiting to be read it's doubtful that will happen! Look forward to hearing what future readers make of it :o)

9 out of 10

I forgot your JE where you said it was a time travelling book so I was puzzled at first. Best thing is not to overthink it. Really good read. Now want a copy of Broken Monsters, Stephen King rates it among 11 scary books.
