'He was contemptable, he wasn't stong enough when you thought about it, not strong enough or good enough, and he left her there. She was asleep anyway, had fallen asleep without her clothes on, and he tucked her in. And he left her there, left her in the house, left most of his things behind, just took those things in the car now, left his aftershave out on the counter in the bathroom, left his dishes in the dishwasher, left a note on her computer, a note with all the wrong words.
