Picked out for the 'author from unusual countries' sweepstakes.
This was for the winner of the Unusual Author/books set in unusual countries... It should have been sent a good while back but has been riding around in the boot of my car for far too long! So happy reading dear winner when you finally get this, winging its way to you now x
Another one for the Unusual Countries sweeps. Thank you for this book as well as for the star ornament (did you make it yourself?).

Thanks book-a-neer. Two books? I am indeed lucky and will be well supplied with reading material for about three months now.
I liked Sophie Kinsella's promo on the cover - "What a gorgeous, evocative novel! It charmed me from beginning to end." Something to live up to indeed.
Was slow to journal the book's arrival , sorry. Been about 4 end on end busy weeks which will hopefully slow down a bit although with Christmas coming maybe that is a vain hope.

Took much longer to get at than I'd hoped - sorry - book-a-neer.
It has just resurfaced and I'll put it on top of Mt TBR and read it this week.
Thought you'd want to know it hadn't been forgotten.

I did enjoy this book thanks to those who have gone before. Some interesting thought-provoking issues arise herein.
I've never been to Tahiti and knew little about it although the author gives as good glimpses of the country. I'm not one for hot sun so unlikely to be there bu if the urge to travel to the Pacific Islands comes over me this would be a great attraction.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
Sending this to Lady Indigo for Southern Cross Book Exchange and do hope she enjoys it. Lots to think about arising from these mother/daughter exchanges.
Thanks for helping me with lost emails when I was trying to catch up with a back-log of obligations.

thankyou so much for the little parcel of books - it was waiting for me when i returned home from my very warm winter coastal sojourn
whenever i hear of tahiti i think of that old imperial leather (soap) ad where the wife says to the husband "tahiti sounds nice" and they instruct the pilot to fly to tahiti...
so.. this novel was longlisted for the orange prize and the author is turia pitt's mother - she dedicates the book to turia (and her goddaughter)
thanks again - i look forward to reading it
