There was a cheap offer at one of the used book stores in Toronto. That is one of the books I've chosen to take.

My contribution to the book table at the Convention.
The style of writing reminded me of Umberto Eco.
Didn't like it. I read a bit more than a hundred pages and gave up.
Hopefully someone else will enjoy it.

I am fond of Perez-Reverte's books, so I couldn't resist. Just fetched it from the table at the convention to join my TBR mountain, thank you !
Though a fan of Captain Altriste's adventures, I did not really like this novel, too much fighting and blood for me. The plot is lacking of suspense, the book is just about naval battles and combats from the begining to the end. However I enjoyed the interesting details and historical facts regarding pirates and corsairs of the Mediterranean sea in the XVII's century.
