The border between Maine and Canada is porous. Anything can be smuggled across it: drugs, cash, weapons, people. Wow, Connolly just keeps getting better & better, I think this could be his best yet - & it's up against some stiff competition!

This book has everything, a wonderful combination of horror & thriller & with throwaway touches of black humour that made me smile (the little snippet about Jackie Garner's mum for one!).

Charlie is up against some pretty nasty characters once again, Herod, the spooky Captain &, it would appear, he might have to join forces with his old adversary the Collector. The ending has me wondering as to what else we have yet to learn about Charlie.......
