Just received this lovely book today and will read it in the next few days and send it on to the next lucky recipient.

This is a beautiful photobook of Chivers home town and has a helpful map in the front. Many of the pictures remind me of the my own home of San Diego, especially the bay and the ocean and that the modern is being built next to the old. I was also reminded of Arizona and New Mexico because the architecture of some of the famous buildings in Brazil are similar to missions in those states. Clearly Recife and Olinda is not an area where you should spend only a day or two. There is much history and beauty there to see.
