I've loved Spier's work for a long time, so when I saw this fair-condition softcover at Savers I had to pick it up. Like his wonderful Christmas, it depicts a circus from advertising and arrival through the shows and to the aftermath. (Unlike Christmas, this book has captions explaining who and what we're seeing - but it still repays attention to each illustration, to pick up all the tiny details!)
