Welcome to BookCrossing!
Thanks for taking the time to read my journal. The book you've found is now yours, no strings attached! You can keep it forever or read it and pass it along like I did. It would be great though, if you could take the time to write a quick note so that I know it found a new home. You can stay annoynomous or sign up. It is free to join and no one gets your email address (plus no spam). If you sign up you will also get notifications if anyone else journals about this book, which is exciting. Please consider using Crossing-Guard as your referring member if you do sign up. Who knows how far this book will travel...
Picked this up at When Words Collide when I attended a book launch. Had the opportunity to meet the author and get this book signed.

This was an enjoyable book, I did get aggravated with the main character though. I mean she knows how the people around her are so instead of trying to work within what is available to her she gloats and tells how she messes up their plans early. I mean you know your father is not going to give up after one attempt, why tell him how you got around him. Instead look innocent and say that you have no idea, one minute you were talking to the prince and the next he was running away. I did enjoy the ending although I did see it coming.
Taking this to June's meet up.

Brought this back from the June BC meeting.
Frustrating but good. What a father!!! Actually both of them! Glad it turned out OK.
This book is ready to head off to the Christmas meet up at Cravings.
Picked up this book at the Calgary BookCrossing December meet-up. Sounds like a neat premise and it's a local author, too.
Not a bad book. The premise is interesting, but there were some things that didn't quite jive with me. I know Gwen is in an impossible situation, with the worse, most abusive father ever, but there were times when her character just didn't interest me. I actually thought that her friend, Rhosyn, was the more interesting character. I also couldn't stand Captain Anifail. I know he's supposed to be mean and insufferable, but it felt really forced. And then the book just ends! It would have been nice to have one more chapter, just to see Gwen revelling in her victory.
Passing on this book to the next reader at the Calgary BookCrossing January meet-up.
Forgot to journal this back in. There were no takers at the meeting, but the book has a sticky note with names, so I'll pass this along at the next gathering.
Passing this book on to the next reader at the Calgary BookCrossing February meet-up.
picked up at Feb. 13th Calgary meeting
I picked this up at the Calgary Bookcrossing meeting today. Adding to Mt. TBR.....
