It was an OK horror story for teenagers. Three teenaged friends want to hike around the moors, and the pestering younger sister of one of them joins the group at the last second. The weather is crappy, it pours down with rain, it's cold, the pathway becomes indistinguishable from the moving sands. So Jade, Lou, Amy and Caroline end up at Gehenna, a half-derelict house in the middle of nowhere, where Martha and Franklin tell them that, with that weather, they will never reach Blacktor, their destination, as all pathways will disappear under the mud and water. The girls are a bit afraid of the eerie atmosphere, so they decide not to impose themselves too much and go to sleep in the barn. A black shape wakes them up one night, because they can't leave until the storm dies away, but when that happens... the thick fog arrives and it prevents them from leaving the place.
A typical horror novel, a fast read which becomes a little hectic and confusing at the end. Not bad but not great.
