Acquired and read because Stephen May is appearing at this year's Birmingham Literature Festival (2nd - 11th October 2014, http://www.birminghamliteraturefestival.org/).
I read it to the end, which means I must have liked it at least a bit, but I was kind of glad when it was over. It's not an especially comfortable read in parts but keeps you turning the pages. There's some nicely observed humour to lighten the mix.
