You don't need to be an economist to understand this book as Stiglitz lays it out in a fairly straightforward manner. It can appear a bit repetitive on occasions, but this is simply to hammer some pretty evident truths home. Mainly focuses on the US, but it really doesn't take a great leap of imagination to apply the arguments to the UK. Educational.
