This was good, a YA story about a sixteen year old girl called Pearl losing her mum during a pregnancy, but the baby survived, nicknamed "the rat" and Pearl found it very hard to bond with her, blaming her in some ways for the loss of her mum. The book's chapters are split into months and it was a very easy read. Recommended.

Taking this book along to the Loughborough Bookcrossing Unconvention this weekend, 22-24th September and adding to the book buffet. :)
