Australian Book of the Year 2014
When obsessive compulsive Don meets free spirit Rosie his carefully planned project to find a wife is thrown into chaos.
I found the book a bit slow in parts but overall an entertaining and enjoyable feel-good read.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, it's tied for my best fiction read of 2014.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
For the meet up at Theo's Pizza
Picked up at the meet up. Have heard about this one, interested to read it!
I wanted to like this more than I actually did. Don is a great character - very original. But something about this didn't work for me.
The whole find the father bit was dull, I get that it was the catalyst for him falling in love with Rosie, but it still didn't make for interesting reading (to me).
The novel seemed to drag on forever. I would have liked to have seen Don go on more dates and meet more different women. The Bianca part for example, and the apricot ice cream woman, were amusing, and I guess I expected more of that type of thing in this.
Rosie is introduced too early and it was too obvious how this would play out. Also, I didn't especially warm to her, not entirely sure why.
People have raved about this book, so maybe my expectations were just higher than they should have been.
I admit to a bit of skimming at the end as it was losing me.
Glad I had a chance to read it, though.
