I bought this in the bargain bin at the nerd shop. It is very good, but I wish it was more than half the story. Part 2 is not (yet?) published. It's a good entry into classic historical fiction though and only took me 40 mins to read.

Not really on topic, but I thought I would bring it to the meetup anyway. I hope someone else will enjoy it too.

This is only about the first fifth of a bigger book (The Outlaw of Torn) by Edgar Rice Burroughs, but it's still a pretty piece of work.

The author avows, in his introduction, that he will finish graphically rendering the rest of the book in due course, and well he should because this is a fine piece of derring-do that ends far too quickly and suddenly.

The rest of the book is available for free on Project Gutenberg being as it is out of copyright and consequently it is now on my Kindle app waiting for me to circle back around.

What more can I say - it's a graphic novel - the graphics are beautifully drawn and colourfully coloured. The story belongs to someone else (slightly adapted), but it seems to suit the new medium very well.

Erm, and that's it really - a pleasant way to spend an hour or two.

I don't know the original book, but I enjoyed this comic from Dark Horse. The only thing that bugged me was the printing - a few pages have been bound upside-down and out of order!
