The Sea Eagle
1 journaler for this copy...
The history of the Cretan fights during the second world war are something I had never read about before so this was new to me. The setting is Crete after the "Inglisi" army has been driven out by the "iron helmets" and how small scattered groups of "Inglisi" and "Junior Inglisi" ("Australos") are still trying to get down to the sea, find a boat and escape the island. There are also Greek resistant groups trying just to survive but also to fight the German invaders at the same time they are still fighting their old war against the "Metaxists".
The book (my copy published 1944) is not the best novel ever written but since the story was new to me I found it interesting anyway.
