A really disappointing effort from Dean Koontz. The whole story has no build-up. It's just not believable and it has no suspense at all because you don't really care about the characters - the sex scenes were terrible too. The only interesting is the carnival life itself, too bad Koontz skipped over most introductions to it that could have been interested - he assumed we know all about it.
