My Comments: Wow. I admire the author for putting her childhood, her thoughts, her own abuse out there for other women to read and learn. We all might recognize a bit of ourselves in the story of Janine and her sister, Amy, who was murdered. I hope many women --young and old-- read this because I know we can all take something away from this story. Whether it is something we grew up in, or picking that bad boy for a relationship and trying to make it work, or simply spotting signs in our family and friends and offering them a kindness, a dignity, a place to turn, sometimes knowing someone is there who cares is all it can take in helping someone make that life-saving decision.
