"The most fun I've had with a novel this year" (Ian Rankin)
It is Summer. It is the Edinburgh Festival. People queuing for a lunchtime show witness a road-rage incident, a near-homicidal attack which changes the lives of everyone involved: the wife of an unscrupulous property developer, a crime writer, a washed-up comedian. Jackson Brodie, ex-army, ex-police, ex-private detective, is also an innocent bystander... until he becomes a murder suspect.

Safe travel, little book, and may all readers enjoy you!
I won't impose a one-month deadline, as I am seldom able to meet it myself... so just enjoy your read, remember there are more readers waiting, and then pass it on...

The missing book arrived today, strangely no apparent stamps or stickers for postage and no customs stickers either, just a large envelope with a few very faint postmaster stamps. I am surprised it was delivered. We are very lucky.
I will read this next week as I recuperate after a small heart procedure at the hospital on Monday. Thank you Bookworm Lady.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
I really really loved this, I so wanted to finish it I almost turned down a dinner invitation. I loved the story of all the characters lives and could not see how they intersected. Wonderful. On its way to France today.
And here it is ! Thank you.
Looking forward to reading it.

And there it is! I love Kate Atkinson and I think this is the last book I need to read in the Jackson Brodie series.

And I have just finished it and I liked it. Although I think I liked the other ones better. I enjoyed the reference I saw of Doctor Who and the Brother Cadfael series. I have already requested and received valpete's adress, so this will travel on tomorrow.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
This one is on its way to valpete.
I've now received it. Thanks for the inventive book mark. I have quite a few to read before this. Please write and remind me if I'm taking too long.
Loved this book! Sorry it's taken me so long. On to the next reader. Enjoy!
It has arrived! Will start very soon!
So I will never get to this book unfortunately. Too many goings-ons in my life. Not fair to hold on to this. Have contacted Penelopewanders for her mailing address.

Journal Entry 19 by penelopewanders at Hasliberg, Bern / Berne Switzerland on Thursday, September 24, 2015
It seems this was the second book about Jackson Brodie - decidedly the most appealing character in the book. As I said to someone as I was reading it: "it's so awful, so many dreadful things happen, but the writer writes so well you want to keep going".
Towards the beginning I had to push myself a bit, but at some point I got caught up in the whirlwind and ended up finishing it far later in the night than was reasonable.
I didn't realize this was part of a series, and I regret a bit that I haven't read the previous book. I do wonder about the fate of Louise and her Archie (and Hamish?) and wonder if they appear in the next book(s) or not. I read another by this author what could have been decades ago (Behind the Scenes at the Museum) but haven't read anything since.
This is here as a ring and I am very grateful for that - I probably would not have pushed myself to pick it up otherwise, and I very glad to have read it.
I have written for the next address.

It took me a long time to get into this book... There were just so many characters and it all seemed a bit random... Then at the very end I was hooked. A clever book even if it's not my normal style of book. I'll definitely look out for the other books in the series as this is the first I've read.

I'm so looking forward to this - Atkinson is one of my favorite authors, and I worked the Edinburgh fringe for a few years before I graduated so this should be especially fun!
It has arrived in The Netherlands. Thank you for sending it, Vekiki. I can't start reading immediately so it's on my tbr pile.
Finally started to read.
Received with thanks!
This was a great read; I especially liked the characters Gloria and of course Jackson Brodie. I had read the Case Histories just a while ago so this carried on nicely from there. There were really good twists and cliffhangers and usual dry humour from Kate Atkinson.
This book has now been read so well that it has come to the end of its useful life. (Pages falling off.)
