This book was highly recommended to me by a friend who assured me that I would really like it. I am not sure about that recommendation because the main character is a narrow-minded curmudgeon who thinks that the society is made up of idiots. I wonder if my friend was trying to tell me something.

There are a lot of idiots in this book and one very brilliant cat who seems to be able to control Ove to the point of preventing him success in his many attempts at suicide.

That may seem that this book is morbid, but it is not. In fact this book is very funny in a morbid sort of way. I hope that I am not giving away too much when I say that most of the idiots that Ove must endure in his life actually think that he is pretty grand. Of course, that might be why Ove thinks that they are idiots.
