The blurb:
Ruby Lennox was conceived grudgingly by Bunty and born when her father, George, was in the Dog and Hare in Dorcaster telling a woman in an emerald dress and a D-cup that he wasn't married. Bunnt had never wanted to marry George, but he was all that was left. She really wanted to be Vivien Leigh or Celia Johnson, swept off to America by a romantic hero. But there she was. Stuck in a flat above the pet shop in an ancient street beneath York Minster, with sensible and sardonic Patricia aged five, greedy cross-patch Gillian who refused to be ignored, and Ruby...
Ruby tells the story of The Family, from the day at the end of the nineteenth cntury when a traelling French photographer catches frail beautiful Alice and her children, like flowers in amber, to the startling, witty, and memorable events of Ruby's own life.

That was quick. =) I chose this because I've read Life after Life and I really liked it so I'm interested to see if this is as good.
I actually can't decide if this was better than Life after Life. I liked this book a lot, but I didn't quite enjoy the ending. And I thought I would get more confused with all the characters, but I remembered everyone surprisingly well.
Sending this to the US next. =) Enjoy!
