Dream like book.

In the false calm before WWII, Stephen, a young Chinese man is sent to a his family's summer home in a seaside town in Japan. He is seriously ill with Tuberculosis, and he is sent to try to regain some strength. The year is 1937.

At his family's house he is taken care of by the garderner/caretaker, Matsu, a silent powerful older man. Slowly life returns as Stephen starts to soak in and unravel the mysteries surrounding Matsu and the woman he has loved for years, Saichi.

The book ends after a year, as Stephen returns home to war torn China. Wow.

Fly far little book!
