Vielen Dank, hab sogar schon im Zug angefangen zu lesen - da es ganz oben in der Tasche lag :)
Once I started reading it was really hard to put this book down again - a very gripping story and I think also a very scary one. Definately one of the best books I have read this year!
And this is what the book is about:
"When Mae Holland is hired to work for the Circle, the world´s most powerful internet company, she feels she´s been given the opportunity of a lifetime - even as life beyond the campus grows distant, even as a strange encounter with a colleague leaves her shaken, even as her role at the Circle becomes increasingly public. What begins as the captivating story of one woman´s ambition and idealism soon becomes a heart-racing novel of suspense, raising questions about memory, history, privacy, democracy, and the limits of human knowledge."

Mailed to crimson-tide as part of the "Wishlist Tag Game" - Happy travelling :)

Caught as a wishlist tag. Thank you very much Dani75, I've heard much about this one.
The first of Dave Eggers I've read, and must say it didn't make me rush to read others. Can a book be dull but still scary? A good idea, but I thought rather poorly implemented and could have been done much better.
Reserved as a RABCK as spied on a wishlist.

Passed on to jeniwren by hand while visiting.
So good to finally meet up in person, and many thanks for your hospitality. :D

This one is from my wishlist and lovely that it was hand delivered on a recent visit from crimson-tide. I have just finished Zeitoun by the same author and his non fiction account of the treatment of a Syrian-American man after Hurricane Katrina in the post 9/11 era. I will be interested to read how he tackles this one being fiction.
I really enjoyed the authors non fiction about Hurricane Katrina ' Zeitoun' and found this fiction disappointing. Initially I thought the premise was an interesting one and timely featuring the reach of the internet in our lives and makes you ponder what is ahead in this online world. However the characters were rather bland and the writing just mediocre. I won't give up on Eggers just yet though as I have another on my shelf 'What Is The What' and will give it a go.
This was made available to the OZVBB August 2017 round and off to QLD to the requesting recipient _Tantan. Posting in the next few days.
Received - thanks jeniwren!

I finished reading this 14/10/2018. Irritating characters, but an absorbing read.
