I got this good-condition softcover from Better World Books. It's an examination of the scientific research concerning a likely cause of the mass extinction of dinosaurs, starting with an imagined reconstruction of the moment of impact and the local and global aftermath. From there it goes into the various sciences and discoveries that eventually led to the "strike from outer space" theory, with some fascinating digressions and revelations along the way. Since author Alvarez himself is one of the co-discoverers of the iridium layer that led to the discovery of the impact crater, he has a lot of inside information on the research in recent decades.
