I enjoyed the anime adaptation, so I was pleased to find this fair-condition manga at Savers. The story has a very weird premise: a high-school tough-guy wakes up one day to find that his right hand has been replaced by a cute girl. Makes no sense at all, right? But somehow it spins into a very entertaining story!

There's a character-list and story-so-far up front, so this volume's approachable even without having read the previous ones.

This volume's pretty much a collection of short stories, in each of which Seiji has to confront one or more problems, from the many girls who now have crushes on him (to Midori's consternation) to the otaku who has gone from crushing on tiny-Midori to wanting to date an actual, real girl (gasp!). [That latter plot turns out to be based on Takamizawa's impression that the girl is just like his favorite anime-girl; she isn't. Hilarity ensues.]

Another tale features fourth-grader Shiori - yet another of the girls in love with Seiji - who, here, finds that classmate Tohyama is in love with *her*, but she's not interested. Cue adorable-young-boy doing his best to impress her - by challenging Seiji to a fight! (Very cute sequence there.) Will Tohyama win Shiori's heart? Stay tuned...

Continuing the "other couples" theme, Seiji's sister's boyfriend attempts a treasure-hunt in order to impress Rin into marrying him. (Since Rin has quite a temper, I figure he's either very brave or very foolish to get near her at all.)

And just when I began to wonder whether Midori was going to get any page-time in this book at all, we get a reminder that her real body is in a coma and her mother and friends are very, very worried about her. When young Kota, who's been Midori's friend for years and has lately befriended Seiji as well, accidentally sees tiny-Midori - well, that may just change the story quite a lot. (Funny side-plot here: Kota has a tendency to get captured and beaten up, with Seiji coming to his rescue, hence his man-crush on Seiji; at one point here, it happens again, and Seiji actually says "Jeez, you sure do get taken prisoner a lot!" Later on, after discovering the truth about Midori, Kota fantasizes that he's a tiny Seiji-hand as well, and then gets jealous of Midori because she's his *right* hand. Oh, Kota!)

[There's a TV Tropes page on the series.]
