Woo hoo!! Today was the Spring edition of the Phoenix Association (animal rescue) Grand Book Fair. There were approximately 18,000 donated books to pick from, each one at only one euro each. Amazingly I managed to come home with only 10 books, not because I couldn't find more I'd like, but because I have a big enough TBR pile already! This one is for my TBR shelves.

Another good medieval mystery, this one based on the true story of the sudden death of Alexander III of Scotland. A strange writing style though, with nothing broken down into new paragraphs, not even dialogue, so each page is crammed from top to bottom with words!

A wonderful surprise. Just the right sized book to help me recover from my recent stay in hospital. On top of that I love this series! 😊😊😊

Thank you Bluenoser!

I really enjoyed this. In fact I enjoyed it so much I didn't even notice the strange writing style, you mentioned, Bluenoser.

There is a song by Steeleye Span, about Thomas the Rhymer who was a character in the story. I had not realised that he was a real historical person.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

Left in Roecliffe during a tour of local red telephone box libraries/book exchanges this afternoon, carefully dodging the showers!

Well over a million people around the world give their books a unique BookCrossing IDentity number (BCID) before sending them out to find new readers. Since the start of the scheme in April 2001 more than eleven million such books have been put into circulation. This is one of them!

Our hope is that we can track the progress of our books once they've left our hands - and that's possible if finders like you visit the website, key in the BCID and leave a comment, however long or short. It's fun, it doesn't have to cost anything, although the site always appreciates donations towards running costs, and you can remain anonymous if you wish. You don't have to join but if you do you'll be able to number and track your own books!
