I got this fair-condition hardcover at the ongoing book-sale in the Nashua library lobby. It's told in two alternating threads, one by a current-day narrator revisiting old haunts and discovering some long-hidden secrets, and the other describing the people and events in a small town in the 1950s. The local baseball team is popular, especially the mechanical wing-flapping owl that pops up to celebrate home runs. But one day a shallow grave is found behind the scoreboard, and the story gives increasing hints as to just what really happened - and how those events affected the people involved, long decades later.

I left this book in the book-swap shelf inside the terminal at the Park-and-Ride at around 3:30 or so; hope the finder enjoys it!
