Elizabeth Turner was seven month's pregnant with her first child when her husband went to New York on business, attending a meeting in the Twin Towers. The date was 9/11. He never came home. This book is her honest and moving account of dealing with grief which, as she says, simply has 'no frame of reference', while preparing for childbirth, coping with a baby, and then bringing up and answering questions from a child who will never know his father.

It was particularly interesting to see that grief counselling did not help Elizabeth - in fact, it served only to highlight to her that the sheer magnitude and horror of her situation was too much for her mind to deal with. Instead, a more spiritual path of total acceptance of pain, Reiki, and sharing with others affected by tragedies helped. I found this very hope-inspiring, as it shows there may be a way through unliveable situations, even when one approach has failed. I hope this book finds people it can help in its journey.
