Looks like a good addition to the Dragon Book Box.

Thank you for helping Teddy's books tour the country.

I will take his books that have returned with me to Albany, NY and Montreal Canada to wild release there.

I will sample all of the books that came my way, but some of them I will release without finishing. My Mt. TBR is also absurdly full, after all, and I still have an orange 15 gallon container of books from Teddy I've yet to uncrate!

Best novel about dragons in space that I read all year.

As a furry, you run into this theme a bit. ;-)

Still, my first rigger novel (although I ran into a similar concept in "A Horse of Many Colors.") and I enjoyed the universe. Each of these rigger novels seem to be about different people. I'd read another, but I'm not sure I'd buy another.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

This is a Memorial Release For Teddy Sexton.

Teddy passed away July 24, 2012. Since then, I've given myself the job of spreading the books he left behind as if they were his ashes. Most all of the books I'm releasing into this bookbox are not his; but almost half were. I still have many, many of his books left to share.

Ten books for ten books for Round II of The Otherworldly Bookbook. http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/20/519828

To the finder of this book, please enjoy it. Please share it with someone. Please help it travel. Thanks!

This was a very interesting story. The basic concept of their version of FTL travel by shifting into an alternate dimension is something I've seen before, but this was set apart by Carver's vivid descriptions of the way that riggers' create their paths by imagining environments to travel in. And the dragons' dimensions, of course! I liked the world building that was involved and the fact that we got to create our own perceptions of events before the ultimate reveal. The writing around Joel's traumatic past was a bit of a mixed bag for me. Parts were nicely done, others felt like they were walking a little too close to some tropes that aren't always helpful for those who have actually gone through similar trauma. However, it was handled far more deftly that most early 90's sci-fi!
