Mistakes Were Made (But Not by Me): Why We Justify Foolish Beliefs, Bad Decisions, and Hurtful Acts

I ordered this title as a book and got, by mistake, the audio book. Fortunately, the bookseller recognized the mistake and I got to keep the audio book. I have managed to understand a big chunk of it, and i find it an interesting and enlightening read. It makes you understand that, hard as you try, one has to cope with inconsistencies as long as one has to relate to different people; reality, being one, can be in fact as many as the people you ask to explain it.
Self justification and the confirmation bias are so deeply ingrained in everyone's way of fixing and remembering memories that they shape our thoughts without even trying. In fact, they are very difficult to detect and avoid (in case we would want to do so, which is not always the case).
The only "fault" I find about this kind of books is that those most in need of reading them, won't.
