What a brilliant, interesting novel!
In 1905, 1033 Koreans left their country for Mexico - and were sold to henequen haciendas on the Yucatán peninsula. Some even fought as mercenaries in the Mexican and in the Guatemalan civil wars. Of course, the novel is fiction, but it is based on real facts and a lot of research went into it.

I'm not surprised that the book was nominated for the 2012 Man Asian Literary Prize!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Taken from the book buffet at the Bookcrossing Convention 2015 in Oxford.
Gute Reise! :-)
