A novel of contemporary history about WWII battle for the North Atlantic.

I was really impressed with this book.
It is a fictional story of a British naval crew that traveled the Atlantic as a convoy escort. The story stuck pretty well to what I think was probably the reality of the duty; dangerous, unpleasant, stressful, cramped, and, did I mention dangerous.
It was not a dramatic telling of the story. The very first ship the crew sailed on was sunk by a UBoat. The sinking happened in a few paragraphs. No heroics, no frantic last minute attempts to save the ship. The ship was struck by a torpedo and started sinking and several sailors died, all in a few paragraphs.
A worthy reading if you're interested in WWII.
I've set this as part of my permanent collection but I'll share.
