Death by Darjeeling (A Tea Shop Mystery)
4 journalers for this copy...
It is tea for two hundred or so at the annual historic homes garden party. And Theodosia, as event caterer, is busy serving steaming teas and blackberry scones while guests sing her praises. But the sweet smell of success turns to suspense when an esteemed guest is found dead - his hand clutching an empty teacup. All eyes are on Theo... who is now trying desperately to save her reputation and track down the real killer. If only she can make sense of it all - before someone else takes their last sip...
One of the better cosy mysteries IMHO. I loved the description of Charleston with its quaint streets and alleys, shops and gardens. I loved the characters in the book too and I never guessed the perpetrator either.
Going into the cosy mysteries bookbox.

Light but entertaining murder mystery. When a developer with a bad reputation is killed by poison in his tea in the historical district of Charleston, suspicion is thrown on Theodosia Browning, the proprietor of the local teashop, and her employees. Theodosia is determined to get to the bottom of the mystery and exonerate them.

Currently reading it; it will make a very nice present for a Birthday Group member who has it in her WishList. :)
Tanamo, thanks for sharing this book with us... and I really agree with what you say. I found this a most entertaining whodunit, with very well depicted characters (I loved Theodosia!), and difficult to put down.
I loved the description of all the different varieties of tea... really mouth-watering, I hope I could get my hands in some of these mysteriously-named blends!
All in all, a very pleasant and enjoyable read...
Of course, thanks, Greenbadger, for making it available in the VBB.
This was planned as a WishList present for a Birthday Group member, but I simply had to read it first, and I was not disappointed at all. So off it will travel soon.

Looking forward to read it!
A new cozy mystery series that so far, after one book, do live up to its critics. I like that this one is set in a tea shop, though so far, all the events happened outside of it but tend to implicate the owner. It was a nice read, well written, with a good pace, and I enjoyed that it’s set in a historical neighbourhood of a big city. Though the story do give some tips about tea, it’s not the main attraction of it, it’s more how the murder is done and who done it. In other words, a good cozy mystery!
