The Forsyte Saga - Book 6 of 9
Synopsis:
The General Strike of 1926 finds Fleur Mont running a railway canteen; across the counter, she catches her first sight in seven years of Jon Forsyte, her first and only love. Both have since married but current loyalties are soon held to ransom by re-awakened passion. Fleur's father, Soames, is drawn into the conflict and discovers, too late, the truth of the old proverb: 'That which a man most loves shall in the end destroy him.'

Picked this up from the vicar-of-dibley at the Aberdeen Meetup on the 24th.
