I quite enjoyed this jaunt through plantagenet history - I definitely learned a lot!
Off to Nu-Knees as promised - I hope you enjoy it, I thought it was really interesting :)

Thank you very much, NICNIC2! I love it when the postman brings me a book - doesn't happen often these days with the exorbitant cost of postage! Thank you!
I'm not sure when I'll get around to tackling it. I aim to read a nonfiction a month from my To Be Read shelves and have already assigned my choices for the next quarter, so it could well be July .... I'll let you know how I get on - eventually ....
I love Medieval history so I'm looking forward to it - despite its size :-)

Thank you again, NICNIC2! I found this book interesting, informative and easy to read, written in a chatty, entertaining style.
I'm reasonably familiar with this period so, although it's long, complicated and detailed, I didn't have any problems following what was going on and who was who and such like!
There were, however, a few annoying misprints which I felt really wasn't good enough for a nonfiction that expects to be taken seriously.
And Edward III's motto made me smile: It is as it is! (quoted on p441) Who knew that what sounds like 21st century management-speak has been around since the 14th century? :-)

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:
To my nonBookCrossing friend (JR)
Over a million people around the world give their books a unique BookCrossing IDentity number (BCID) before sending them out to find new readers. Since the start of the scheme in April 2001 more than ten million such books have been put into circulation. This is one of them!
Our hope is that we can track the progress of our books once they've left our hands - and that's possible if finders like you visit the website, key in the BCID and leave a comment, however long or short. It's fun, it doesn't have to cost anything, although the site always appreciates donations towards running costs, and you can remain anonymous if you wish. You don't have to join but if you do you'll be able to number and track your own books!
