If you are looking for a description of the Camino de Santiago, this is probably not the book you are looking for. If you are looking for a description of what happened to the author when he walked this famous pilgrimage then, again, you are likely to be disappointed. This is a Coelho novel where he describes a spiritual pilgrimage to achieve mastery in a mystical order, ultimately to be awarded a sword. Thoughtful he provides some spiritual exercises which may be valuable and of interest. I was disappointed as I was hoping to find out more about the Camino de Santiago, there are better books for this purpose.

It took a little time to become convinced that this was a book that I would finish reading. Having done so, I am now wondering what to make of it and the messages it might have for our times.
